5 Types Of Car Roof Racks

Car Roof Racks are set of bars secured to roof of a motor car used to carry bulky items like luggage, cycles, canoes, kayaks, skis or various carriers and containers. Automobile roof racks are split into different types depending on the vehicle roof. 
  • Rain gutter: This is one of the oldest roof racking systems. This luggage carrying system is used on old models but is typically found on full sized or cargo vans. This system is relatively simple and requires the load bars and gutter foot pack.
  • Bare roof: Bike Racks and luggage racks are most common in this model, suitable for almost all modern vehicles that do not have factory installed racks. Vehicle specific shaped rubber bases and coated metal brackets are customized to suit customer.
  • Fixed point: Two points on each side on the outer edge of the roof are fixed during manufacturing process. Generally these points are located under a roof trim piece, a removable panel or flip up panel. This system offers a very clean integrated look that can be dependable for attaching a variety of carriers.
  • Side rails: These great looking functional rails design is the newest style that leaves no space between the rails and roofs. These rails that offer versatility allows connection of cross bar system.
  • Factory bars: Few vehicles heave a factory installed permanent roof rack. These racks are installed in the factory at the time of manufacturing.
Depending on the type of car and the use, a suitable rack can be chosen from the range available.
